A brighter, cleaner future for Naul as vital wastewater upgrade gets underway

The north County Dublin town of Naul is set to benefit from a major investment in critical infrastructure as work gets underway on a €9 million upgrade of the town's wastewater treatment plant. 

The project, delivered by Uisce Éireann, will improve the performance and resilience of the wastewater treatment infrastructure, help to protect the local environment, and support future growth and development in the area.

The upgrade will enhance key wastewater treatment infrastructure, improve operational performance and resilience, and support compliance with environmental requirements.

Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, James Browne, TD, welcomed the investment in Naul.

“This is a significant investment in Naul that will ensure the wastewater treatment facilities can support the needs of the community into the future. By increasing capacity and improving treatment performance here, this project will help facilitate sustainable growth in the area, while also delivering measures which will protect the local environment,” the Minister said.

The project will strengthen the town's wastewater treatment infrastructure, improve operational performance and resilience, and support environmental compliance.

These improvements will enhance the reliability and efficiency of the wastewater treatment infrastructure while continuing to safeguard local waterways and the surrounding environment.

The upgrade works will be carried out on behalf of Uisce Éireann by Murphy International Ltd. and are expected to be completed in 2028.
