Crews working to restore water supply to customers in Tipperary

Uisce Éireann is working to restore normal water supply to customers in parts of County Tipperary following separate issues at local water treatment plants.

Customers in Coalbrook, Kilbraugh, Tinnock, Earlshill, Clonamondra, Littlefield, Glengaul and the surrounding areas may experience an interruption to supply following an issue at the local water treatment plant. It is estimated that supply will be restored by 1pm today.

Separately, customers in Tullohea and surrounding areas may experience an interruption to supply following an interruption at the local water treatment plant that occurred overnight. It is expected that normal water supply will be restored to impacted customers by 5pm this evening.

Uisce Éireann's Pierce Faherty said: "We understand the inconvenience that unplanned interruptions to water supply can have for customers. Our crews are working to restore normal water supply as quickly and safely as possible. We thank customers for their patience and understanding while these works are completed and will continue to provide updates as information becomes available."

Typically, it takes two to three hours following restoration works for normal supply to return to all customers affected by an unplanned outage. However, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers at the end of the network or on higher ground as the system recharges.
