2km of old watermains replaced in Clogga to boost water quality
Uisce Éireann has completed a critical watermain replacement project in Clogga, installing over 2km of modern, high-quality pipes between Clogga Cross and Tubrid Reservoir. This essential upgrade will improve water quality, reduce leakage, and deliver a more reliable supply for homes and businesses in the area.
Portfolio Manager at Uisce Éireann, Dave Murphy, said: “We’re delighted to complete this important upgrade in Clogga. This section of the watermain had experienced frequent bursts over the years, making its replacement a priority. By replacing over 2km of old watermains, we have improved the reliability and quality of the water supply, reduced leakage, and strengthened the network for future generations. We appreciate the patience and support of the local community as we carried out these essential works.”
The project was delivered by Shareridge on behalf of Uisce Éireann.
This project was delivered as part of Uisce Éireann’s national Leakage Reduction Programme, which continues to deliver significant benefits to communities across Ireland, including improved water quality, provision of a more resilient and sustainable water supply for customers, and considerable water savings.
