Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section
Millstreet residents will now benefit from a more secure and reliable water supply following the completion of works by Uisce Éireann to reduce high levels of leakage in the area.
The project saw over five kilometres of old and damaged pipes replaced in Minehill, Sandpit, Dromahoe, and along the L1120 at Rathcoole. New service connections between the public mains and individual properties were also installed.
Jack Cronin, Programme Manager with Uisce Éireann, is pleased to have delivered these works for the community in North Cork.
“We are delighted to have completed these works that are now benefitting the community in Millstreet. By replacing these old water mains, we will ensure a more sustainable water supply, eliminate existing leaks and significantly reduce the amount of clean drinking water lost into the ground protecting our most precious resource.”
Ward and Burke Construction Ltd. carried out the works on behalf of Uisce Éireann.
This project was delivered as part of Uisce Éireann’s national Leakage Reduction Programme which continues to deliver significant benefits to communities across Ireland, including improved water quality, provision of a more resilient and sustainable water supply for customers, and considerable water savings.
