Crews are carrying out essential upgrade works on Drumroe Reservoir
Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section
Uisce Éireann is carrying out essential upgrade works to repair structural issues causing high levels of leakage and supply disruption at the Drumroe Reservoir, which is part of the Burncourt Water Supply Scheme.
These upgrade works, together with recent improvements carried out on the local network, are being delivered to provide a more resilient water supply for homes and businesses in Drumroe, Cullenagh, Lisfunshion, Carriganroe, Carrigmore, Toormore, Kilnamona, Cooladerry, Newcastle, Ballyporeen, Gorteeshal, Kilcarroon, Killeatin and the surrounding areas.
The Drumroe Reservoir is currently out of service to facilitate the upgrade works, meaning customers normally supplied by the reservoir are being supplied directly from the Burncourt Water Treatment Plant. The upgrades are progressing well and are due to be completed by late September.
Uisce Éireann’s Pierce Faherty said: “Uisce Éireann is committed to ongoing investment in the water infrastructure supplying the Burncourt Water Supply Scheme. These essential works will ensure that the people of Drumroe and the surrounding areas will have a more secure, resilient water supply.”
