Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section
Uisce Éireann crews are responding to a burst main in Donegal town which is impacting supply to customers in the area this morning.
Uisce Éireann customers in Tullyearl, St Ernan’s, Laghey Village, Murvagh, Carrick and surrounding areas may be experiencing disruption to their water supply this morning as a result of this unplanned outage.
Crews are currently working to isolate the burst and begin repairs. It is estimated that repairs will be complete by approximately 3pm this afternoon.
It can take two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to restore to all customers affected by an unplanned outage. However, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers at the end of the network or on higher ground as the system recharges.
Damien O’Sullivan of Uisce Éireann said that crews will work as quickly as possible to repair the burst main and restore supply to normal levels.
“We acknowledge the impact of an unplanned outage, and we want to thank affected customers for their patience while we work to restore supply,” said Damien.
Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications from us for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.
