Crews mobilising to restore water supply in Waterfall and surrounding areas in County Cork

Uisce Éireann has identified a burst on a watermain at the Bandon Road and is preparing to carry out repairs to restore water as quickly as possible.  The areas affected include parts of Waterfall, Ardrostig, Chetwynd and the surrounding areas. 

Due to the challenging location of the unplanned outage, including high traffic volumes, dedicated water services may take longer than anticipated to complete repairs on this complex section of the watermain. 

Michael Bell, Water Network Operations Manager, Uisce Éireann said: “We understand the inconvenience unplanned outages can have on customers and we appreciate your patience as we work to return the water supply to customers as quickly as possible.” 

As the unplanned outage is being addressed, a water tanker will be put in place at St James Cemetery in Chetwynd from 6pm on Friday, 09 May. Customers are reminded to bring their own containers when taking water from the tanker and to boil the water before consumption as a precautionary measure, as per HSE advice.
