Crews working to restore normal supply to customers in Sligo Town

Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section

Uisce Éireann is working to restore a normal water supply to customers in parts of Sligo Town this afternoon.  Some instances of discolouration have been reported in the Riverside, Abbeyville, St. Anne’s and Garavogue areas of Sligo Town, following repairs carried out to a water main serving those areas.

Kevin Love, Uisce Éireann Water Networks Operations Manager for Co Sligo, said: “We understand the concern that discoloured water can cause and would like to thank customers for their patience and understanding. Our crews are responding and will carry out flushing works this afternoon to help restore normal water supply in affected areas. We expect any temporary discolouration currently being experienced to settle following these works.”

Customers experiencing discoloured water from their cold kitchen tap are advised to run the tap for several minutes until it runs clear. If the water does not return to a clear colour, customers are advised not to drink it as a precaution and to contact Uisce Éireann using the details below. Water is safe to drink when it is running clear.
