Crews working to restore supply to Ballyjamesduff

Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section

Uisce Éireann crews are currently working to repair a burst water main outside of Ballyjamesduff which is impacting supply to the town.

The burst main is on the Virginia Road leading out of the town. In order to repair the burst, crews have temporarily turned off the trunk main feeding Ballyjamesduff.

Available reservoir supplies are being used to supply the town while repairs are ongoing but some Uisce Éireann customers in Ballyjamesduff may be experiencing intermittent supply or reduced pressure this lunchtime as a result of this burst.

Repairs are expected to be completed by mid to late-afternoon. Typically, it takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to restore to all customers affected by an unplanned outage. However, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers at the end of the network or on higher ground as the system recharges.

Peter Gallagher, Uisce Éireann Water Treatment Operations Manager, thanked impacted customers for their patience while repairs are ongoing.

“We acknowledge the impact of a unplanned outage for our customers, and we wish to assure impacted homes and businesses that all efforts are being made to restore normal supply as quickly as possible, said Peter.
