Crews working to restore supply to Cashel and surrounding areas
Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section
Homes in Cashel, Springmount and surrounding areas will experience a disruption to their water supply this evening due to an interruption to the power supply to Springmount Treatment Plant.
Our crews are liaising with the ESB to restore power supply and ensure the plant can be brought back into operation. Some customers close to the treatment plant have already been impacted by a loss of water, and other areas will be impacted over the course of the evening as water levels run low in the treated water reservoir. Every effort is being made to get the plant up and running and return water to customers as soon as we can.
Uisce Éireann’s Pierce Faherty said:
“We apologise to approximately 2,000 people in Tipperary impacted by the loss of water this evening. We understand the inconvenience of the loss of normal water supply this evening and wish to assure people our crews are working to resolve this issue as soon as possible.”
We understand that a water outage can be more than an inconvenience for customers who rely on a continuous water supply for medical reasons. Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications from us for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.
