Uisce Éireann crews are working to return normal water supply to customers in Port Nua, Ros Beag, An Más, Leitir Mhic an Bhaird, An Dumhaigh, An Dúchoraidh and surrounding areas this afternoon.

Due a mechanical issue encountered this morning at Leitir Mhic an Bhaird Water Treatment Plant, reservoir levels have fallen and this is impacting supply to homes and businesses in the area.

Damien O’Sullivan of Uisce Éireann said crews are working to restore normal supply as quickly as possible.

We acknowledge the impact of an outage such as this and we assure impacted customers that we are doing all we can to bring supply back to normal levels as soon as possible. We expect that the reservoir levels will be replenished by 9pm tonight,” said Damien.

As the network refills and supplies return tonight, customers at the end of the network or on elevated sites may experience intermittent disruption or low water pressure for a number of hours. Customers may also experience short-term discolouration to their supply. For more information, customers can visit the discoloured water section
