Crews working to restore water supply to customers in Sligo town

Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section

Uisce Éireann is working to restore normal water supply to homes and businesses in parts of Sligo town following a significant burst to a water main.

Customers on the Clarion Road from St. Joseph’s Church to the HSE Chronic Disease Management Hub in Ballytivnan, including St. Joseph’s NS and St. Edward’s NS will experience low water pressure or outages today as a result.

Expert water service crews have been dispatched and are working to minimise disruption and carry out the required repair works, with every effort being made to complete this work as quickly as possible. Works are scheduled to take place until 6pm this evening (Friday).

Kevin Love, Uisce Éireann, said: “We understand the inconvenience this is causing, and our teams are working to restore the water supply as quickly as possible and it is anticipated that water supply will be returned later today. Once normal operations are restored, it will take two to three hours for the network to refill and normal supply to return to all customers.”

Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications from us for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.
