Essential overnight restrictions required in Goatenbridge to safeguard daytime supply

Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section

Uisce Éireann is appealing to customers to conserve water as essential overnight restrictions are being introduced for customers supplied by the Goatenbridge Water Treatment Plant in an effort to safeguard daytime supply.

The restrictions are necessary as a result of low reservoir levels and operational issues at the plant.

Restrictions will be in place from 10pm tonight until 6am, starting Friday, August 15 and will continue on Saturday night, August 16 and Sunday night, August 17.

The areas impacted are Poulatar, Ballybacon, Newcastle, Ballyveera, Castlegrace, Shanakill, Magherareagh, Ardfinnan and the surrounding areas.

Pierce Faherty, Uisce Éireann Water Operations Manager in Tipperary has assured customers that every effort is being made to restore supply to normal levels: “We understand the inconvenience of overnight restrictions, but these measures are necessary to ensure continuous daytime supply for homes and businesses while we allow the reservoir levels time to recover.”
