Essential overnight restrictions required in Mullinahone to safeguard daytime supply

Uisce Éireann is introducing overnight restrictions for customers in Mullinahone and the surrounding areas in an effort to safeguard daytime supplies.

The restrictions are necessary as a result of low reservoir levels in Mullinahone Water Treatment Plant.

Restrictions will be in place from 10pm tonight until 7am, starting tonight Friday July 25 and will continue on Saturday July 26 and Sunday July 27.

The areas impacted are Mullinahone, Priestown, Kilvemnon, Pollacapple, Jamestown and the surrounding areas.

Pierce Faherty, Uisce Éireann Water Operations Manager in Tipperary has assured customers that every effort is being made to restore supply to normal levels. “We understand the impact of overnight restrictions, but these measures are necessary to ensure continuous daytime supply for homes and businesses while we allow the reservoir levels time to recover” said Pierce.

Meanwhile water supply is returning to normal for customers in Ballinard, and surrounding areas following a recent outage

Typically, it takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to be restored to all customers affected by an unplanned outage. However, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers at the end of the network or on higher ground as the network recharges.
