Essential works taking place in Elphin and Strokestown tomorrow
Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section
Uisce Éireann wishes to advise customers in Elphin, Strokestown, and surrounding areas that they may experience low pressure/water outages tomorrow, Thursday, 22 January. This is as a result of the planned changeover to a new water main in the Lettreen area as part of the N5 Ballaghaderreen to Scramogue road project.
Customers may experience intermittent outages/low pressure from 8am to 8pm tomorrow while the changeover to the new water main is being carried out.
The areas that may be impacted on Thursday include Strokestown, Elphin, Larrigan, Shankhill Cross, Lettreen, and surrounding areas.
Uisce Éireann’s Gerard Greally said: “We are working closely with the contractor on the N5 Ballaghaderreen to Scramogue road project to reduce the impact of these works on homes and businesses. Our teams will work to restore the water supply as quickly as possible. We understand the impact that outages can have on customers and would like to thank the local community in advance for their patience and co-operation during the works to facilitate the delivery of the road project.”
As the water supply returns, there may be some increased instances of discoloured water in the short-term. For helpful tips on what to do following an outage, visit our issues during or after an outage page.
