Leakage reduction works to futureproof water supply for Jonestown

Customers in Jonestown, Edenderry can soon look forward to a more secure and reliable water supply as Uisce Éireann begins essential upgrade works next week.
As part of its National Leakage Reduction Programme, Uisce Éireann has prioritised the replacement of over 5 km of ageing watermains in the Jonestown area. This investment will not only provide a more secure and reliable water supply in the area but also reduce leakage of treated water into the ground.
Uisce Éireann’s Programme Manager, Dave Murphy, is looking forward to delivering the project for customers in the local communities. “This essential work is part of an investment by Uisce Éireann to improve the water network across County Offaly, prioritising investment where it is needed most. We want to thank customers in Jonestown in advance for their cooperation and patience while we complete these works”.
Shareridge are carrying out the works on behalf of Uisce Éireann and is expected to be completed in Spring 2026.
