Complex repair works on a burst pipe have been completed on the N22 Farranfore to Killarney Road at Breenan’s Glen.

Work began early this morning, and a Stop-Go system was in place to ensure the safety of the crews carrying out the repairs and the safety of the public.

Uisce Éireann’s Charlie O’Leary thanked the community for their patience and co-operation while the essential repair works were underway. Mr O’Leary said: “We understand the inconvenience caused and our crews made  every effort to minimise the disruption. Water will start to slowly return to customers. Typically, it takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to restore to all customers affected by an unplanned outage. For those on higher ground or at the end of the network it may take longer for normal supply to be restored. We anticipate all customers should have water restored by tonight.”

The unplanned outage caused disruption to Coolick, Lawlor’s Cross, Finnegan’s Cross, Glebe, Dunrine and surrounding areas in Kerry.

Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications from us for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours. To register as a vulnerable customer or as an alternative contact, visit our Vulnerable Customers page.
