Supply restored to customers on Tullow Road, Carlow following a significant burst

Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section

The water supply is returning to normal after Uisce Éireann crews successfully completed repairs to a burst water main that impacted customers in Idrone Park, Tullow Road, and surrounding areas.

Shane Aylward, Water Network Operations Lead at Uisce Éireann, stated: “Our dedicated crews responded quickly to carry out essential repairs following a complex burst. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and would like to thank the community for their patience and understanding while crews worked to restore supply to impacted areas.”

Once water is restored, customers may experience temporary discolouration as the network refills. If this occurs, Uisce Éireann recommends running the cold kitchen tap until the water runs clear.

Following repair works, it typically takes three to four hours for normal supply to return to all customers as the network refills, particularly for those on higher ground or at the end of the network.

Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications from us for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours. To register as a vulnerable customer or as an alternative contact, visit our Vulnerable Customers page.
