Uisce Éireann working to restore supply to parts of Clonmel following interruption at Glenary Water Treatment Plant

Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section

Uisce Éireann crews are advising some customers in Clonmel of outages following an interruption to the water supply at Glenary Water Treatment Plant.

The interruption will result in outages to parts of town as follows:

  • Glenary
  • Caherbaun
  • Ballygambon
  • Kilmaccoma, and surrounding areas.

Elevated areas will also be affected including: Wheatfields Estate, Ballingarane and Inishlounaght.

Uisce Éireann’s Pierce Faherty has assured customers that every effort is being made to restore a full water supply as quickly as possible.

“We understand the inconvenience of an unplanned outage and we thank customers for their support while our works continue.”

Supply is expected to be restored by 12pm tomorrow.

Typically, it takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to restore to all customers affected by an unplanned outage. However, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers at the end of the network or on higher ground as the system recharges.

Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.

Uisce Éireann’s customer care team is available 24/7 on 1800 278 278 and customers can also contact us on X @IWCare with any queries. For further updates, visit the service and supply section of our website.
