Water restrictions for customers in Moynalty and surrounding areas

Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section

Uisce Éireann wishes to advise of an unplanned water restriction to facilitate the replenishing of Moynalty Water Treatment Plant due to a borehole pump issue.

Customers in Moynalty and surrounding areas may be impacted by supply disruptions or reduced water pressure from 7pm tonight, Wednesday, 19 November to 3pm on Thursday, 20 November.

An alternative water supply is located at Moynalty National School carpark A82 YV20.

Typically, it takes two to three hours following an outage for normal supply to restore to all customers. However, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers on higher ground or at the end of the network.  When water supply returns some customers may notice discoloured water.  In the event of discolouration, running the cold kitchen tap for several minutes - we recommend up to 20 minutes - will usually restore the water to a clear colour. Please visit Uisce Eireann outages for any updates.

Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.

Uisce Éireann’s customer care team is available 24/7 on 1800 278 278 and customers can also contact us on X @IWCare with any queries. For further updates, visit the service and supply section of our website.
