Water returning to customers on Castlerea Public Water Supply

Customers urged to conserve water as reservoirs replenish

Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section

Water supply is returning to customers served by the Castlerea Public Water Supply following repairs carried out at Longford Springs Water Treatment Plant.

Supply has returned to customers in Castlerea town area, however, customers in Ballintober, Trien, Kilmurrary, Castleplunkett and areas on the periphery of the scheme may continue to experience intermittent outages and/or reduced pressure over of the course of the day.

Uisce Éireann’s Ger Greally thanked affected customers for their cooperation: “Uisce Éireann acknowledges the disruption that can be caused by an unplanned outage and we wish to thank customers in the area for their patience as reservoirs continue to replenish to normal levels. Customers may experience reduced water pressure or intermittent outages today as supply catches up with demand, but we expect full supply to be returned to all customers overnight. During this time, we are continuing to appeal to customers on this supply to conserve water.”

Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications from us for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.
