Crews are continuing works to restore water in Ballindaggan

Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section

Uisce Éireann are progressing with works to restore normal water supply to homes and businesses in Ballindaggan following an interruption to supply at the Ballindaggan Water Treatment Plant. While Uisce Éireann crews are currently on site carrying out restoration works, given the complexity of the repairs, the restoration time has been extended to 4pm on Friday, 3 October.

An alternative water supply is available at Ballindaggan Church.

Customers are reminded to use their own containers when taking water from the tanker and, as a precaution, boil the water before drinking.

Uisce Éireann’s Padraig Lyng said : “Uisce Éireann would like to apologise for the inconvenience of the extended nature of this unplanned outage and would like to thank customers for their support while our crews work to ensure that a normal water supply is returned to those impacted as quickly and safely as possible.”

Typically, it takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to be restored to all customers affected by an unplanned outage. However, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers at the end of the network or on higher ground as the system recharges.

Uisce Éireann is advising customers in Ballindaggan of supply disruptions following an interruption to the water supply at Ballindaggan Water Treatment Plant.

The interruption will result in outages for customers in Ballindaggan and surrounding areas in Co. Wexford.

Alternative water supplies are available at Ballindaggan Church.

Customers are advised to bring their own containers and to boil the water before use as a precaution. 

Uisce Éireann’s Padraig Lyng has assured customers that every effort is being made to restore a full water supply as quickly as possible. “We understand the inconvenience of an unplanned outage and we thank customers for their support while our works continue.” 

Supply is expected to be restored by 4pm today.
