Works set to commence in Two Mile Borris

Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section

Uisce Éireann’s efforts to improve water supply across Tipperary are continuing, with works set to get underway in Two Mile Borris.

The investment in the local water network will support a rationalisation of the existing water supply, ensuring reliability and resilience for local homes and businesses, while also allowing for future growth in the area.

The works involve the construction of 2.3km of new water mains, which will connect customers in Two Mile Borris to the Thurles Regional Water Supply. This will replace the village’s existing water treatment plant, which is prone to operational and capacity challenges.

The new pipeline will be constructed along the N75 between Thurles and Rathmanna, Co Tipperary.

Speaking about the project, Uisce Éireann’s Laura Heneghan said: “We are delighted to be delivering this critical water supply project for the community of Two Mile Borris. This investment will not only improve the village’s water quality but will allow for future growth in the area.”

This project is part of the ongoing programme of works to rationalise small water supplies, improving security and reliability across the country.
Two Mile Borris is the latest Tipperary community to benefit with over 9km of new water mains recently constructed to rationalise several small supplies, serving Uisce Éireann customers in Littleton, Horse & Jockey, Upperchurch, Glengar and Cappawhite.

We would like to thank the local community of Two Mile Borris for their support and patience in advance as we carry out these essential works.
To safely and efficiently deliver this project, traffic management will be in place in the form of traffic lights. Local and emergency access will be maintained at all times.

Mallwood Construction is carrying out the works on behalf of Uisce Éireann with the project expected to be complete in Spring 2026.
