26 April 2026

Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section

Uisce Éireann is working to restore the water supply as quickly as possible to impacted customers in Fethard following a water treatment plant interruption.

The areas affected are Fethard and the surrounding areas.

Uisce Éireann’s Pierce Faherty has assured customers that every effort is being made to restore full water supply as quickly as possible.

Repairs are underway and are scheduled to take place until 6pm this evening. We understand the inconvenience an unplanned outage can have on customers and appreciate their patience as we work to return normal water supply as quickly as possible."

Typically, it takes three to four hours after repairs are complete for normal supply to be restored to all customers affected by an unplanned outage. However, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers at the end of the network or on higher ground as the system recharges.

Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications from us for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours. To register as a vulnerable customer or as an alternative contact, visit our Vulnerable Customers page.

Uisce Éireann is committed to keeping customers informed across multiple platforms 24/7 and we encourage customers to engage with us through our website, X channel @IWCare, and through our customer care helpline which is open 24/7 on 1800 278 278.

Updates are available on our Water Supply Updates section (TIP00110803).
