Planned outage in Spiddal area on Wednesday morning

 Uisce Éireann will carry out essential upgrade works at the Spiddal Water Treatment Plant on the morning of Wednesday, 30 July. 

Water supply to the surrounding areas may be disrupted while these essential upgrade works are carried out. Areas to the east of Spiddal including Furbo, Park, Lippa and Ballyliam may be affected, while areas to the west of Spiddal including Tully may also be impacted. Customers on higher ground are the most likely to be affected. 

The works are due to take place between 8am and 1pm on Wednesday. 

Typically, it takes two to three hours for normal supply to restore to all customers following a planned outage. 

However, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers on higher ground or at the end of the network. Uisce Éireann’s Tony Kelly thanked affected customers for their understanding while these essential upgrade works are carried out. “Uisce Éireann acknowledges the inconvenience caused by interruptions to water supply, and we want to assure affected customers in the Spiddal area that their supply will be restored to normal levels as quickly as possible,” said Tony.
