Greater Dublin Drainage Project gets the green light to proceed to construction

10 July 2025: This essential project, servicing north Dublin and parts of Meath and Kildare, will provide wastewater treatment for the equivalent of half a million people living and working across the Greater Dublin Area (GDA).

Planning Update March 2024

On 13 November 2019, An Bord Pleanála granted planning permission and confirmed the Compulsory Purchase Order for the GDD project. This planning permission was quashed following the issue of legal proceedings and a Court hearing. The planning application was subsequently remitted back to An Bord Pleanála by the High Court in 2021 for a fresh decision.

Uisce Éireann application to DHLGH for a Foreshore Licence

Uisce Éireann has applied to the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage (DHLGH) for a Foreshore Licence (reference FS007605) to undertake benthic sampling in the environs of the proposed outfall pipeline (marine section).
